Microsoft Intune

What is Microsoft Intune?

Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based endpoint management solution from Microsoft that allows organizations to securely manage and control devices (such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops) and apps used by employees. It’s a part of Microsoft’s Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) suite and integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft 365 services.

With Intune, IT admins can enforce security policies, remotely wipe corporate data from lost or stolen devices, control app access, and ensure that devices comply with organizational security standards. It supports management for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices.

Is Microsoft Intune for Office 365 Free?

No, Microsoft Intune is not included for free with standard Microsoft 365 or Office 365 subscriptions such as Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Office 365 E1.

However, it is included in certain Microsoft 365 plans, such as:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium
  • Microsoft 365 E3
  • Microsoft 365 E5
  • Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) E3/E5

If your organization uses one of these plans, you likely already have access to Intune as part of your subscription. For other plans, Intune can be purchased as an add-on license.
